Trying to grab Avi is like trying to catch a cheetah. He’s always on the move: flying from the Big Apple to the Design District, in business meetings, appointments with customers, and spending time with his family.
How are you staying so calm during all of this? I wonder as I jokingly point out his tapping feet. With a million things happening at the same time, the emails that kept accruing during our interview, it’s no wonder Avi has a lot on his mind. “Both of my phones don’t stop ringing,” he laughs, just as his phone mockingly proceeds to ring.

Avi & Co.’s Miami boutique opened on May 4th, 2023. Avi wanted to feel like a King at his Miami Grand Opening. He strolled the red carpet in Dior Alligator sneakers, adding a 10K diamond to each of the laces. Both diamonds are valued at $800,000. He wore an Arta suit, a company owned by a friend of his. To finish his outfit, he donned a pair

Available on September 22nd, 2023, Apple will be releasing their new products to their Apple Watch line. These will include the SE, Series 9, and Ultra 2 smartwatches. With new releases every year, how do these gadgets compare with the tried and true? It may not be a fair fight, but the growing attention to these products is an interesting development in the history of timepieces that warrants another look.
Cherished Heirloom or Outdated Artifact?
Apple watches offer an interactive user experience; their compatibility with your phone and health benefits are just some of its advertised features. However, as with all Apple products, they need to be upgraded to a newer model every 3-5 years. Constant updates to the operating systems and apps boast improved performance and features, while at the same time warranting upgrades to the hardware on a consistent basis.
When the first edition of the Apple watch came out in 2015, a customer decided to customize his piece by decking it out in
Dual time watches are equipped with two hour hands to indicate two different time zones. The primary hour hand must be independently adjustable by hour increments, and the second-hour hand indicates 12 or 24 hours. They are more complicated than a GMT because they move on two subdials, however, both serve the same purpose.
The difference between a dual time watch and a GMT watch is usually the scale. A dual time watch has a 12-hour scale, while a GMT watch has a 24-hour scale. Most dual time watches have a day/night indicator, and a hand that can be adjusted more easily than a GMT watch.

With its easy readability, it is no wonder why dual time zones are so popular. Travelers could set a home time zone for reference. These timepieces are also popular with families or businesses in other countries. People who do a lot of business travel will benefit from this watch, as they can always be aware of what time it is for their colleagues for better
Businesses are allowing more of an expressive dress code, accepting brighter colors in formal situations. Not only are colorful dials aesthetically pleasing, but they create stunning photos.
Social media has played a larger role in luxury watch brands and trends. Even collectors are seeking timepieces that stand out from the crowd. This year, you can expect to see a lot of green (like the green Oyster Perpetual) and blue (like the turquoise Tiffany Oyster Perpetual) in spring and summer fashion.
So, is this the reason behind luxury brands taking a step out of their comfort zone: the popularity of louder accessories? It’s one thing to have a solid-colored dial and another to turn the watch’s face into a painting. Let’s take a look at some of the newest pieces that have enhanced the Swiss luxury watch brands we all know and love:
Rolex Bubbles and Puzzles
Rolex dropped a lot of upscale timepieces in their latest 2023 lineup. There is something for everyone including a gorgeous collection
At Avi & Co., we are celebrating Father’s Day with luxurious gifts for dad that can be passed down for generations. Our CEO and founder, Avi Hiaeve, grew up surrounded by watches and jewelry. He worked at his dad’s jewelry store in Long Island a few days a week when he was 14 years old. While his dad was a watchmaker in Russia, the hobby of timepieces is what inspired Avi to go into the industry. Now, Avi is a dad of five, and he enjoys sharing his passion with his eldest son.
Inspired by Avi’s experience with his family, I wanted to learn more about other people’s experiences with watches and their families. I asked a few people to share with me a watch story involving the father figure in their life. I was touched by the memories that were shared.
These were three of my favorites, and their names were changed to keep their stories private:
A Proud Dad and a Rolex Day-Date

Avi & Co. cut the ribbon in front of their second paradise-infused boutique on May 4th, 2023. A family-owned, highly trusted luxury watch retailer, Avi & Co. sells hard-to-find timepieces such as Richard Mille, Patek Philippe, Audemars Piguet, and Rolex. The New York-based company also creates original jewelry.
The Crown Chain
Avi and his team designed the extraordinary necklace in just five weeks. Named The Crown Chain, it was a showstopper at Avi & Co.'s Miami Grand Opening. Assembled with an assortment of round, asher, cushion, princess, pear, and emerald cuts, the diamonds weigh 210 carats.
The original concept consisted of 32 large stones surrounded by approximately 6,200 round diamonds placed in flower settings. Donned by Avi himself, these certified GIA diamonds walked the Design District’s red carpet. Each stone shined in front of the paparazzi.
From the imagination of Avi Hiaeve, the crown represented the grand opening he always dreamed of. Avi was ready to take over Miami
By now, you know Avi’s backstory - how he moved to New York City from Israel with his family when he was 14 years old. How he wanted to own his own business at 16 with the experience he gained from working since he was 10. How the only English he knew when he arrived here was yes and no.
I wanted to sit down with Avi in a more professional, yet intimate setting. Interview him in a way that didn’t talk about the story we already know and admire. I wanted to get to know the man behind the jewelry industry in a more up close and personal setting with questions that have been on my mind, the teams, and you too – on camera and 100% real.
Before the interview began in Avi & Co.’s upscale, trendy showroom, Avi looked over to his mom (who watched from the sidelines the entire time with pride). While getting miced up for the interview, he said excitedly. “Look, mah, I made it! I got cameras on me. You never thought I was going to make it this far, huh?”
As a watch enthusiast, attending watch trade shows and conventions are thoroughly engaging. Tradeshows have everything: watches, accessories, and even software. “The importance of trade shows,” Avi & Co.’s Sales Manager Roman Sionov says, “is that it gives you an idea of the current state of the market, how the prices are doing, and what current inventory is out there. This could mean that there are a lot of new watches or very little inventory at the moment. If there’s little inventory, the prices tend to go up. If there’s a lot of inventory in the shows, that tells us that prices might be coming down a bit because a lot of people have watches and want to offload.”
Conventions, on the other hand, are a great platform for businesses such as Rolex, Audemars Piguet, and Richard Mille to market their new products to customers as well as for customers to engage in networking opportunities. People from all over the world attend to see the luxury watches and purchase them without the wait
