Richard Mille and Diamonds and Avi, Oh My: Floyd Mayweather’s Watch Collection

It’s no surprise that former American boxer Floyd Mayweather’s watch collection is extensive and modified with diamonds. 15 major world championships and an undefeated record, Mayweather worked hard to indulge in life’s luxuries!

Mayweather had the opportunity to speak with his fans about his luxury watch collection: 3 cases to be exact. “They are all full of watches,” Mayweather tells us. “If I’m going to be traveling for 45 days, I like to take 45 watches with me. I like to have options.”

“Everybody’s always asking me: What’s your favorite watch? Well, one of my favorite watch brands is Avi & Co.,” Mayweather finishes, flashing the diamonds around his wrist. “As you can see right here,” Mayweather continues about the Avi & Co. watch, “I got this a few months back. It’s one of my favorite watches. One of the best brands in the world. That’s just my personal opinion.

“I like the brand so much, I went and bought another watch just yesterday at Avi & Co.” Mayweather brings forward a blue Avi & Co. box to flash his second AH17, the white gold 44 mm case version. “I know I’ve bought a lot of watches and merchandise from you guys, but this is by far the best.”

Mayweather first shares his blue leather Avi & Co. branded case filled with 15 diamond-pave timepieces. “Now, I want to give you two appetizers first, and then we’ll give you the main course. These are just a few watches that I got while traveling.”

At this point, our mouths are watering at the shine slowly escaping from the box. The first part of Floyd Mayweather’s watch collection consists of customized Richard Mille, Audemars Piguet, Rolex, Chanel, and Franck Muller timepieces dripping in diamonds.

In the industry, we see a lot of people sporting Richard Milles on their wrists. From a broader perspective, it’s easy to realize there is nothing quite like the Richard Mille watch. Custom watches, also referred to as aftermarket watches, have diamonds added by non-brand authorized third parties on a preexisting timepiece. Also referred to in the industry as ‘iced-out’ or ‘blinged-out,’ a custom timepiece has some replica parts. The bracelet, case, or the diamonds set on the watch are not original.

Mayweather’s second Avi & Co. leather box is larger than the first with 15 watches on top. “They dancing,” he laughs. Rolex Day-Dates, Audemars Piguet Offshores, Cartier Pashas, Rolex Sky-Dweller, and a Rolex Daytona were just some of the iced-out watches that energized the room.

People ask the former boxer all the time why he doesn’t have any plain watches. “I’m not a plain guy. So, when you are at a whole other level, and you’re special, you got to have special pieces.”

Mayweather’s watch collection takes a mysterious turn as he pulls out the tray to reveal 15 additional diamond-pave treasures. They create a burst of light that can be seen from the moon. Amongst the luxury watch brands included a Rolex GMT, a Rolex Pearlmaster, and an Audemars Piguet Offshore.

“Now, all of these pieces are factory.” Even his red-strapped Richard Mille RM 65-01 titanium timepiece is factory. He did, however, decide to change the band to something that suited him more comfortably. “I buy what I like.”

“Now, if you’re a plain guy or a basic chic, then you’ll get a basic watch. Me, I’m flashy, I’m flamboyant. I’m a King. I’m a Pharoah. You guys see my chains: they’re long. When you’re a King or a Pharaoh, your jewelry stays draped on you. That’s what we do. My lifestyle is flashy.”
