We catch sight of amazing luxury watches on the streets of Manhattan every so often, but the true hotspots for incredible watch sightings are red carpet events like the Met Gala, Grammys, Oscars, and more. You will also see some incredible timepieces on less famous red carpets, like the one at the NFL Draft and those gracing the entrances of charity galas.

In the past, we have zeroed in on memorable timepieces from key events (the Cannes Film Festival, for instance), showcasing the exceptional styles and one-of-a-kind watches that A-listers rocked and wore. But today, we are taking another tack. It is time to enter the next phase of the bracket with our red carpet roundup of the best watches worn across countless different upscale events. Actress Michelle Yeoh has appeared in countless films, including the award-winning Everything Everywhere All at Once, Last Christmas, and most recently, Wicked. As Broadway fans eagerly await the second installment of this movie adaptation, all eyes were on Yeoh as she took to the red carpet at the 97th Academy Awards in March. Her blue satin gown was a head-turner, but her Richard Mille watch was the true star of the show. Yeoh showed an iced-out Richard Mille RM 07-01, much like the one pictured above. Her watch was crafted from 18K white gold rather than rose gold, and it emphasized her dedication to this avant-garde, tech savvy brand. You can count on American actor, director, and playwright Colman Domingo to push the boundaries of menswear whenever he steps onto the red carpet. Domingo’s look at this year’s Oscars was no exception, as he paired his belted, shiny red jacket with black pants and gold jewelry. Everyone knows that the Met Gala, held annually in May, is one of the biggest fashion nights of the year. You are sure to see some memorable timepieces at this elite celebration, and this year’s event did not disappoint. Serena Williams, one of tennis’s greatest players of all time, showed up and showed off in a gorgeous teal gown paired with a cool 18K white gold Audemars Piguet Royal Oak. But the most notable feature of this watch was its size: Clocking in at just 33 mm, you might even argue that Williams kicked off the miniature watch trend that has been dominating this year’s runways, street style, and red carpets.

Fun Fact: Williams was not the only one rocking a miniature Audemars Piguet watch at the Met Gala. Elite gymnast and Olympic gold medalist Simone Biles also showed off a so-called “baby AP,” opting for the even smaller 23 mm option. You do not have to be a movie star to rock an impressive luxury timepiece, and the red carpet at the 2025 NFL Draft proved that point tenfold. Many of the up-and-coming football stars showed off chic menswear paired with memorable watches that are likely just the beginning of a lifetime of success. For example, cornerback Maxwell Hairston of Kentucky paired a marbled suit jacket with cornflower blue slacks and a tie in the same shade. The piece de resistance of his outfit, however, was his two-tone Rolex Datejust. Combining 18K yellow gold and stainless steel, this watch is durable and practical. Plus, it can complement virtually anything in your wardrobe. There is no question that Rolex was the reigning king of the NFL Draft red carpet, although we also saw some standout pieces from Audemars Piguet and Cartier.

Come late May, celebrities and A-listers from around the world congregate in southern France at the Cannes Film Festival to enjoy some of the biggest movie premieres of the year. Of course, there are plenty of red carpet photo ops and memorable styles for the rest of us to enjoy from the sidelines. One of this year’s heavy hitters, A$AP Rocky opted for some defining style choices, pairing multiple different watches with oversize suits and Ray-Ban frames. His decision to show off an undersized Patek Philippe Nautilus with a 36 mm silhouette certainly caught the attention of the fashion world. Speaking of men wearing miniature watches, we cannot talk about this year’s red carpet highlights without mentioning Timothée Chalamet’s impressive stack of gold wristwear at the 2025 Oscars. Chalamet’s lemon-yellow suit was memorable in and of itself, but there are also his accessories to discuss. He upped the ante on modern men’s fashion, rocking not just one but two gold Cartier watches, one of which was a sleek and classy Baignoire model. If there is anyone who loves to push the boundaries of gendered style, it is without a doubt Chalamet.

The iconic musician, who presented at the Golden Globes ceremony alongside Brandi Carlisle, showcased a rare and eye-catching white gold Rolex Daytona with a pave diamond dial. Elton John opted for a black rubber strap, but his dial was much like the one shown above. With an original retail price of around $70,000, this watch is worth far more on the resale market. The diamonds around the bezel showcase the breathtaking Ascher cut, and smaller stones are set throughout the dial. Of course, you still get the three chronograph dials that are a defining feature of any Daytona watch.
