Patek Philippe Aquanaut5968A-001, Stainless Steel, Black dial, 42 mm

The Patek Philippe Aquanaut Chronograph 5968 was launched at Basel World 2018 as a new entry-level chronograph model. It is powered by the caliber CH 28-520 C, which is used in the Nautilus Chronograph, and is now housed in an Aquanaut case that is 42.2mm in size. The reference 5968A-001 is made of stainless steel and is accompanied by two rubber straps. The watch has a power reserve of 45 to 55 hours and features a self-winding flyback chronograph movement that combines tradition and innovation. It has a classic column wheel and a modern vertical disk clutch that prevents a rebound of the hand in either direction when the chronograph is started. The chronograph hand can also be used as a continuously running seconds hand since the clutch is virtually friction-free. The orange chronograph displays (large chronograph hand, quarter-second divisions of the peripheral railway track minute scale, 60-minute counter) contrast well against the black dial with an embossed pattern. Legibility is enhanced with applied gold numerals filled with a luminous compound, as well as two luminous baton-style hands. The steel case is water-resistant up to 120 meters and measures 42.2 mm in width and 11.9 mm in thickness.
