Luxury Watches Spotted at the 2025 US Open

Every year, A-listers and star athletes around the world flock to New York City for the final Grand Slam tennis tournament of the season. At Flushing Meadows, located in the borough of Queens, you will find unparalleled passion for tennis, competition, and hard work. From glimpsing hallowed players on the practice courts to cheering for your favorite athlete at the legendary Arthur Ashe stadium, there is nothing quite like experiencing the US Open in person.

Plus, this event is a certified star-studded paradise. Countless celebrities attended the men’s and women’s finals that took place this past weekend, creating a spectacle that extends far beyond the lines of the hard surface tennis courts. Where there are celebs and talented athletes, you are sure to spot some exceptional style. From Naomi Osaka’s memorable Nike bubble skirts to Carlos Alcaraz’s grape-hued ensemble, there was no shortage of playful, sporty, and preppy fun.

Of course, a good number of players (and spectators) accessorized with luxury watches. Rolex, who sponsors the tournament itself, also sponsors three of the top five women’s players and four of the top five men’s players. But the Crown was far from the only logo on the court. Today, we are going to dive deeper into the best wristwear spotted at the US Open, from players to partiers and everyone in between.

There are plenty of incredible timepieces to be seen at the US Open, but two stand out above the rest. Why? Because their wearers took home the ultimate honor this past weekend, winning the men’s and women’s singles trophies, respectively. Of course, we are talking about Carlos Alcaraz and Aryna Sabalenka. So, which wristwear did these winners choose?

Alcaraz, who hails from Spain, opted for a timeless Rolex Daytona watch. Specifically, he chose an 18K yellow gold Daytona with a black and turquoise dial. The black Oysterflex bracelet added a sporty and rugged touch. Alcaraz scored his men’s singles win on Sunday, September 7, against Italian Jannik Sinner in four sets. You have to admit, this gorgeous Rolex Daytona looks pretty elegant with the silver Tiffany & Co. trophy.

The day before, Belarusian Aryna Sabalenka took home the women’s singles trophy against American Amanda Anisimova in a fiery, two-set game. A rare repeat win at the US Open makes this trophy even more special for Sabalenka, who played as an unassociated individual, as her country is currently banned from the USTA tournament. As she hoisted the sterling silver trophy over her head, the crowd got an excellent look at Sabalenka’s gorgeous Audemars Piguet watch. She opted for a rose gold piece set with countless diamonds, a variation of the 18K white gold timepiece shown below:

Every year at the US Open, both players and spectators make a major statement with gorgeous watches that turn heads and make headlines. But for now, it is time to take a closer look at the incredible timepieces that tennis champions from around the world showed off after their wins.

After her win in the Round of 16, Polish player Iga Świątek showed off a chic Rolex Datejust not dissimilar to the one pictured above. The main difference? Świątek’s watch, also a petite 31 mm timepiece, had a silver face and was crafted entirely from 18K rose gold rather than from a combination of rose gold and stainless steel. While this gorgeous watch might be diminutive, Świątek’s personal style certainly is not. She rocked the courts over the past couple of weeks until she eventually fell to American player Amanda Anisimova, who would continue on to face Aryna Sabalenka in the finals.

Italian tennis great Jannik Sinner took home the US Open trophy last year, wearing a watch that made an appearance again in this year’s tournament. Although Sinner fell to Spaniard Carlos Alcaraz in the final match at Arthur Ashe Stadium, his selection of Rolex watches still got plenty of airtime. We got another glimpse of the timeless and stylish Rolex GMT-Master II “Root Beer” edition that Sinner rocked back in 2024 when he lifted his first US Open trophy over his head. We will never know which timepiece he would have chosen for his final interview this year if he had come out ahead.

A perennial tournament favorite, American Coco Gauff did not hang on for nearly as long as we would have liked. Luckily, however, she did still get to show off one of her signature pieces: the Rolex Oyster Perpetual “Red Grape” edition, which is now discontinued. She rocked this watch when she took home the US Open women’s singles trophy in 2023, and it made another appearance at this year’s French Open, which she also won. There is nothing quite like a unique vintage watch to show off Gauff’s endlessly and effortlessly cool style.

Incredible timepieces are not reserved for only the athletes playing their hearts out on the courts. Celebrities love the US Open, and we spotted some amazing watches in the stands, as well. At this weekend’s finals, A-list attendees included Courtney Cox, Hank Azaria, Usher, Mindy Kaling, BJ Novak, John Krasinski, Emily Blunt, Spike Lee, Jessica Alba, Stanley Tucci, Debra Messing, Lindsay Lohan, Ben Stiller, Anna Wintour, Bruce Springsteen, Jon Bon Jovi, Sting, Steph Curry, P!nk, and numerous others. Here are the showstopping watches they wore to this high-end event.

Steve Carell of The Office fame knows an ever-lasting fashion truth: You can never go wrong with a platinum Rolex Daytona. He showed off this stylish timepiece with a preppy sweater and button-down combo, highlighting the prestige and acclaim of the US Open itself.

Fun Fact: Rolex reserves this special ice blue dial for its platinum watches, making them instantly recognizable as elite and unique. Clearly, Carell knows what he is doing (or at least, his stylist does)!

As much as we love Rolex watches, it is always fun to see another brand showing off and showing out at the US Open, which is often dominated by “The Crown.” Russell Wilson, who rocked a sophisticated Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Chronograph is giving us just that. Formerly the quarterback of the Seattle Seahawks, Wilson is moving on to New York to start for the New York Giants this football season. It seems like he is enjoying his new city and reveling in all of the events and fun to be had in The Big Apple.

Rapper Ludacris sported a monochromatic black denim outfit with his trendy Patek Philippe Aquanaut watch. The rubber bracelet and durable stainless steel case certainly cement this timepiece as an ideal choice for the US Open. And Ludacris was not the only one who thought so! Other celebs who opted for Patek Philippe watches included Donovan Mitchell, Fat Joe, Kevin Hart, Jason Biggs, and Fred VanVleet.

We have to respect the hustle of wearing not one, but two luxury watches stacked on top of each other. Thanks to SNL comedian and actor Bowen Yang (who also appeared in the movie Wicked last year), we got the chance to spot this trend in the wild at the US Open. Yang showed off two Cartier Tanks with black leather straps and 18K yellow gold faces. But he was not the only one who opted for a Tank watch this year. We also saw these popular timepieces on the wrists of Rami Malek and Tyler James Wiliams of Abbott Elementary.
